We are transitioning from a Tier I Bank to a Tier II Bank due to our strategy 2024- 28 which is highly anchored on a digital banking.

We are adquately Capitalised with the necesary buffers over and above regulatory Capital requirements.

Classification of banks into Tier 1 and Tier 2 is based on their capital adequacy, Tier 1 banks are typically larger institutions while Tier 2 banks are generally seen as mid-sized institutions in terms of assets and market capitalization and tend to differentiate themselves through focusing on specific banking services or cater to particular customer segments.

However both Tier 1 & Tier 2 banks are regulated by Bank of Uganda under the same law.

All customer accounts will not be affected in any way, they will continue to operate as usual as per the account opening mandates, the Bank will advise in due course during the products reviews and account rebranding so as to capture the benefits of the digital banking including all the chequing accounts.
