ABC Capital Bank is transitioning into a Digital-led Tier two Bank

Kampala, Uganda, 29 March 2023 – Following the recent communication from the Bank of Uganda, ABC Capital Bank would like to inform our clients and the general public of our transition to a Tier II from a Tier I bank, to better serve our core market.

The transition reflects our new strategic direction of becoming a digitally led bank tailored to serving the personal, retail and SME segments of the economy. We will be focused on aligning our services with modern consumer preferences for convenience, affordability, innovation, security as part of a wider personalized service.

In the meantime, we have made adequate provisions to ensure a seamless continuation of our clients’ business through our bank.

Our transition is part of a wider restructuring of the industry that we have been in consultation with the regulator and other stakeholders about over the last few months.

ABC Capital Bank started its journey in 1993 as a microfinance institution trading as Capital Finance Corporation (CFC LTD). It converted into a commercial bank in 2010 and is licensed and regulated by Bank of Uganda.
